People around the world are reaching out and lending a helping hand in a time of need. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, Honda is looking to help out, too. The carmaker recently started manufacturing and delivering vital ventilator parts to Dynaflo Inc. of Reading, Pennsylvania. These Honda ventilator parts will allow Dynaflo to produce their diaphragm compressors – a key component of portable ventilators.
Honda is working with Dynaflo to produce 10,000 compressors every month, working to do so until the end of August. The Dynaflo portable ventilators are used in hospitals and by first responders across the country.
“Honda associates have successfully transformed a portion of our technical training center into an assembly line that will help support the urgent need to produce ventilator components,” said Rick Schostek, Executive Vice President, Honda North America, Inc. “With our supply of these key components to Dynaflo, we hope to help address one of the most pressing needs within the COVID-19 crisis.”
To produce these parts, Honda has transformed its Technical Development Center in Marysville, Ohio, which stretches over 6,000 square feet. The Center has used its production expertise to ramp up production, ensuring best practices are used in compressor assembly. Each part is built and tested for quality before behind shipped to add to the ventilators.
