Celebrate the Fourth of July at Lake Junaluska! This family-friendly event features live music, a parade, and square dance to lead into the night. A fireworks show over the lake starts at 9:30pm and makes for a great way to close out the celebration of American independence. Taking place on July 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, Independence Day at Lake Junaluska is a must-attend event to celebrate the country we live in!
Christmas in July Festival
The Christmas in July Festival takes place on June 30th and July 1st. Live country music and street dancing makes up most of the 30th while the largest street festival in the county kicks off on the 1st. Enjoy arts and crafts, music, Civil War reenactments, and much more! Best of all, the event is free to attend!
North Carolina Black Bear Festival
North Carolina is home to the highest black bear densities in the world so it only seems right to celebrate it. Now in its third year, the North Carolina Black Bear Festival features a 5K, paddle event, mechanical bear ride, and more!
Fayetteville is packed with fun things to do for the holidays, but if you’re stumped on where to go to get into the spirit of Christmas, why don’t you check out the Cape Fear Botanical Gardens? Just in time for Christmas, the Gardens have put up stunning displays for their Holiday Lights event, so you can enjoy the sights all through December up until December 30th, when the last evening for the show concludes at 9pm.
This is Cape Fear Botanical Garden’s sixth year in a row hosting the Holiday Lights event and festivities, transforming all the plants and trees on display in the Gardens into sparkling visions of Christmas lights. Enjoy thousands of displays along a mile-long path with the whole family to embrace holiday festivities and the outdoors. You can purchase tickets online to save money or buy tickets at the door.
You can conclude your adventure through the Cape Fear Botanical Gardens by enjoying arts and crafts for kids, taking photos with Santa Claus, roasting s’mores over an open firepit, and searching through the gift shop for a souvenir or gift. No matter what, the Holiday Lights event is sure to become a tradition with lasting memories for you and your family.
Hop in the car and explore the Fayetteville area. With tons of events and activities, you’re bound to find something the whole family will enjoy. This includes things like the Art Attack and the Downtown Farmers’ Market. These Fayetteville events and activities are just some of the many occurring in the region.
According to the Downtown Alliance, the Fayetteville Art Attack takes place on Wednesdays at the Rock Shop (128 S King Street). Admission is just $2 for those 21 and older, and $5 for those under 21. Stop by to see at 6:00pm to see what’s happening in the art community in Fayetteville.
You should also drive down to the Downtown Farmers’ Market. Featuring fresh and locally grown produce, you can shop for everything from wine to vegetables. You can also find arts and crafts on occasion, as well as information on local vendors. Stop by from 2:00pm to 6:00pm around the Local History Museum.
