North Carolina Summer Events

North Carolina summers offer some of the greatest weekend trips and local events, designed to attract visitors from around the country. Of course, the warm climate and sandy shores make it a great place to vacation, even if you don’t intend on planning any events, although attending a summer festival can make any North Carolina stay well worth the trip. So, here are a few can’t-miss North Carolina summertime events recommended by us here at Bryan Honda!

Independence Day

Celebrate the Fourth of July at Lake Junaluska! This family-friendly event features live music, a parade, and square dance to lead into the night. A fireworks show over the lake starts at 9:30pm and makes for a great way to close out the celebration of American independence. Taking place on July 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, Independence Day at Lake Junaluska is a must-attend event to celebrate the country we live in!

Christmas in July Festival

The Christmas in July Festival takes place on June 30th and July 1st. Live country music and street dancing makes up most of the 30th while the largest street festival in the county kicks off on the 1st. Enjoy arts and crafts, music, Civil War reenactments, and much more! Best of all, the event is free to attend!

North Carolina Black Bear Festival

North Carolina is home to the highest black bear densities in the world so it only seems right to celebrate it. Now in its third year, the North Carolina Black Bear Festival features a 5K, paddle event, mechanical bear ride, and more!
