Honda is setting new records, as the brand recently announced that it had sold over one million vehicles with Honda Sensing® technology.  Honda Sensing® is a suite of safety systems that includes a range of sensors and software programs to alert drivers to danger. The brand’s goal is to have all Honda models feature this suite of technologies by 2022.

According to Honda, the Honda Sensing® suite features technologies such as Collision Mitigation Braking, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, Road Departure Mitigation, and Adaptive Cruise Control. Many of these feature uses sensors to detect potential danger and slow or stop your vehicle to prevent damage and potential crashes.

“Honda dreams of a collision-free mobile society and the Honda Sensing technology has a crucial role to play in advancing us toward that goal,” said Henio Arcangeli, Jr., senior vice president of the American Honda Automobile Division & general manager of the Honda brand. “With the rapidly growing population of Honda vehicles applying these technologies, we hope to significantly reduce collisions involving Honda vehicles within the next three to four years.”

Honda Sensing® was recently revealed to reduce the claim severity of collisions by about $379, which is approximately 11 percent. Overall, there has been a 28 percent reduction in claims for injuries to people in other vehicle on the road when using Honda Sensing® technology.
